Working Girls

This is a painting of a pair of carriage horses in Charleston S.C. I don't know if they were both mares, but the name working girls seemed to suit the painting! This 12"x 24" oil painting has been sold, but I thought it was too fun not to share! Thank you for visiting my blog.

Portraits in Red and Scarlett

These portraits are of two sisters wearing traditional Middle Eastern dress. They lived in the Middle East for almost 2 years while their father worked there. I absolutely loved the idea of painting them in these red veils. Not only does this hold special memories for the family, but the contrast with the bright blue and green eyes was perfect! Unfortunately my photograph of the older daughter(blue eyes) has a glare on it and the vibrant colors are lost a little. These paintings were commissions and are not for sale. Portraits in oil on canvas can be commissioned. Thank you for visiting!

Baby Wren Paintings

These adorable little birds fledged from a nest in a hydrangea flower pot on my front porch. The mother carefully dug a slight depression in the soil under the cover of the plants leaves. She built her nest entirely out of pine needles and laid four little eggs. I was so excited to watch them hop around on my porch after leaving the nest that I immediately painted these two miniatures. The paintings are 4"x6" oil on hardboard and are available at Art Central Gallery in Summerville, S.C.
They are framed in a silver leaf (top) and a gold leaf frame (bottom)-sold.
