10th Anniversary at Art Central Gallery

Welcome table outside of the gallery.

We had a Gala at Art Central Gallery on Thursday to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We had live music and all sorts of delicious food and wine for all of the wonderful people who have made it possible for our gallery to be such a success. Most of the evening had standing room only, thankfully we had tents and chairs outside. I am thankful to be a part of this gallery with twelve other talented and wonderful women.

This is a 30"x 40" oil painting of a green sea turtle that I created for the gala. I usually work from my own reference photos, but I have friends who scuba dive all over the world and they were kind enough to let me use their photos. I also painted a red star fish and eel.

I titled this "Lively Otter" and anyone who has tried to photograph one would agree! This otter was at the Charlestowne Landing Historic Site in South Carolina. I always wanted to paint an otter and I really enjoyed watching them frolic and swim. The water rolling off the back was a bit of a challenge, but I was happy with the results.

Wow, I am taken by how beatiful the sea turtle is. I feel like I am back in the water. I am sorry I missed the event, I would have loved to be there. See you soon.
